If you thought pound cake was just a loaf of sweet nostalgia, think again! The Breton pound cake, hailing from the picturesque region of Brittany in France, is a delightful twist on the traditional recipe, thanks to its generous use of salted butter. This cake doesn’t just sit idly on the table; it practically sings with the flavors of the coast and whispers tales of fishermen and seafarers enjoying their sweet treats after a long day. With a golden crust and a moist, buttery interior, it’s the kind of cake that pairs perfectly with a cup of tea or a glass of cider. So, grab your mixing bowl and let’s bake a slice of history with a dash of adventure!
