  • 1000 g Water

Steps

Dough Preparation

  1. Add 250 g of masa flour, 250 g of chicken broth, 120 g of lard, 10 g of baking powder, 5 g of salt, 2 g of garlic powder in the food processor bowl.
  2. Mix manual: 30sec / 0°C / Speed 4.
  3. Remove the dough and place in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap.

Filling Preparation

  1. Wash the food processor bowl.
  2. Add 500 g of ground beef in the food processor bowl.
  3. Mix manual: 10:00min / 120°C / Speed 2.
  4. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Add 150 g of onion, 100 g of potato in the food processor bowl.
  6. Mix manual: 5:00min / 120°C / Speed 2.
  7. Add 10 g of chili powder, 5 g of ground cumin, 5 g of dried oregano, 2 g of garlic powder, 5 g of salt, 2 g of pepper in the food processor bowl.
  8. Mix manual: 30sec / 0°C / Speed 3.

Assembly

  1. Soften Corn Tortillas by steaming them or heating them briefly on a dry skillet until pliable.
  2. Spread a thin layer of the dough evenly onto each softened Corn Tortilla.
  3. Spoon a generous amount of the Ground Beef filling down the center of the dough.
  4. Fold the sides of the Corn Tortilla over the filling, and then fold the ends to enclose completely.

Steaming

  1. Place the assembled tamales into the vapor kit.
  2. Add 1000 g of water in the food processor bowl.
  3. Place the vapor kit.
  4. Mix manual: 60:00min / 120°C / Speed 1.
  5. Remove the vapor kit.

Serving

  1. Carefully remove the steamed tamales from the vapor kit.
  2. Serve Hot.
