Hot wine, or 'Glühwein' as the Germans affectionately call it, is the cozy hug in a mug that warms your spirits during chilly winter nights. Originating from a tradition of spicing up wine to keep the cold at bay, this delightful concoction is a festive favorite at Christmas markets across Europe. With a symphony of flavors from star anise, orange zest, and a sprinkle of spices, every sip transports you to a twinkling holiday scene. Fun fact: the Romans were the first to heat wine, believing it could ward off illness—so really, a glass of hot wine is practically medicinal! Serve it steaming hot, and let the aromatic spices dance in your glass as you toast to good times and warm memories.
