Embark on a delightful baking journey to create Kaak, these Lebanese sesame bread rings, golden and fragrant with anise. Ingredients
- 500 g Flour
- 100 g Butter
- 100 g Granulated sugar
- 120 g Milk
- 1 Egg
- 1 g Vanilla sugar
- 5 g Baking powder
- 2 Tablespoon(s) White sesame seed
- 1 Tablespoon(s) Anise
- 30 g White sesame seed
Steps
Dough Preparation
- Add 500 g of flour, 100 g of butter, 100 g of granulated sugar, 120 g of milk, 1 egg, 1 g of vanilla sugar, 5 g of baking powder, 2 tablespoon(s) of white sesame seed, 1 tablespoon(s) of anise in the food processor bowl.
- Mix manual: 2:30min / 0°C / Speed 2.
- Transfer the content of the food processor bowl in a bowl cover with plastic wrap.
- Setaside the preparation content in a fridge during 30min.
- Take a small amount of dough and roll it into a thin rope. Then, form a circle and pinch the ends together to seal, forming a ring shape. The Kaak should be about 8-10 cm in diameter.
- Place of the Preparation name on a baking tray to be covered in baking paper before.
- Setaside the preparation content in the fridge during 30min.
Baking
- Preheat the oven at 180°C.
- Sprinkle 30 g of white sesame seed on the preparation content.
- Cook in the oven at 180°C during 15min.
- Bake for 5 more minutes if needed, until golden brown
- Transfer the content of the baking tray in a plate let cool.
- Serve Immediately.
