- 50 g Butter
- 500 g Ground beef
- 250 g Pork mince
- 1 Teaspoon(s) Dried oregano
- 0.5 Teaspoon(s) Ground clove
- 0.5 Teaspoon(s) Cinnamon powder
- 1 Bay leaf
- 120 g Beef broth
- 1 g Salt
- 1 g Pepper
- 1 Egg
Steps
Meat Preparation
- Add 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 50 g of butter in the food processor bowl.
- Mix manual: 5sec / 0°C / Speed 5.
- Mix manual: 5:00min / 120°C / Speed 1.
- Add 500 g of ground beef, 250 g of pork mince in the food processor bowl.
- Mix manual: 10:00min / 120°C / Speed 2.
- Add 1 teaspoon(s) of dried oregano, ½ teaspoon(s) of ground clove, ½ teaspoon(s) of cinnamon powder, 1 bay leaf, 120 g of beef broth, 1 g of salt, 1 g of pepper in the food processor bowl.
- Mix manual: 15:00min / 100°C / Speed 1.
- Remove bay leaf.
- Adjust the seasoning if needed.
Assembly
- Preheat the oven at 200°C.
- Roll out half of the Puff Pastry and line the bottom of a 23 cm pie dish.
- Pour the meat filling into the pastry-lined dish.
- Roll out the remaining Puff Pastry to form a top crust. Place over the filling. Crimp the edges to seal, and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
- Add 1 egg in a bowl.
- Mix manual: 10sec / 0°C / Speed 3.
- Whisk the Egg in a small bowl and brush over the top crust for a golden finish.
Baking
- Cook in the oven at 200°C.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
- Serve Warm.
- The Tourtière can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
