Filo pie with cottage cheese using a Compact Cook

Imagine a dish that embodies the delicate crunch of the Mediterranean: the Filo Pie with Cottage Cheese! This delightful creation marries the flaky layers of filo pastry with a creamy, cheesy filling that dances on your taste buds. Originating from the ancient kitchens of Greece and Turkey, where filo dough was a staple, this pie is a celebration of simplicity and flavor. As you layer each sheet, brushing it with butter, you’re not just cooking; you're crafting a masterpiece that has graced tables for centuries. Fun fact: the word 'filo' actually means 'leaf' in Greek, which perfectly describes its paper-thin texture.
